Janet works closely with the bridal couple on the ideas, themes, choice of flowers and props that will help create the essence of romance for their very special day.
have been a florist for 18 years and my training includes an NVQ in Floristry and regular visits to London to keep up with floristry trends, I have completed courses with Paula Pryke and the late Jane Packer. I really enjoy my job and feel it is very important to gel with the bride, this helps us in the process of choosing what will reflect her personality and choices for her day.
I also grow some of my own lovely summer flowers, such as Cornflowers, Sweet pea, Scabious and Lavender: it gives me such a thrill to know that something I have grown will be in her photographs for time to come.
When I deliver the bridal bouquet, I include a little card with the meanings of the flowers within, such as Calla lily meaning Exceptional woman or Dahlia meaning Eternal Bonds this adds depth of meaning to the bouquet, it personalises it and the bride will have the card to keep long after the bouquet is gone, reminding her of her special day.
Although floristry is very hard work sometimes (especially in the busy summer months) there is no bigger delight for me than to see the bride’s face when she receives her flowers on the morning of her wedding.
